In April 1919 people had gathered at the Jalianwala Bagh for the occasion of Punjabi New Year (Baisakhi) 13th April 1919 and also to protest the two leaders. On the order of General Dyer, the troop fired at the crowd for almost 10 minutes resulting in the death of 1000 people and injured more than this. To save themselves many people jumped into a nearby well and it is also said that 120 bodies were recovered from that well. The bullets marks are still visible.
Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum
